NORTH KERRY CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER FINAL - BALLYBUNION 1.30pm SUNDAY NOV 15th
This was very well contested game and the difference of six points perhaps flattered the feale siders. Knocknagoshel started the game the better and had two early chances but failed to score. At the other end Tadhg Kennelly finished off a fine move from Listowel with a point. Denis Walsh leveled the game with a good score from a tight angle. Listowel went ahead again but a wonderful long range point from Mike Walsh had the game tied once more at 2 each. Listowel scored next but knock replied in great fashion with 3 unanswered points from Denis Walsh, James Walsh and Edmond Walsh to leave the score 5 -3 to Knock. Knock then had one or two half goal chances only for a few passes to go astray. Then came the big blow for Knock when Listowel got the only goal of the game. It was a very scrappy goal after some tenacious work by Padraig Reidy and Bartley Rahilly were unlucky not to keep it out. This seemed to dent Knock's confidence and lift Listowel who scored 4 more points before the small whistle. Half time score was Knock 0-5 Listowel 1-07.
The second half saw Listowel with more possession although Knock were first to register a score from nice free from Edmond Walsh. Listowel had more of the ball now and this resulted in more scores and they seemed to have a comfortable cushion of 4 or 5 points at all times. Edmond scored another free and a 45 but it was not enough in the end. Final score was Knock 0-08 Listowel 1-11.
